Through the walls of Shasta Dam was born a reservoir called Lake Shasta. This lake is the third largest in the state of California following Lake Tahoe and Salton Sea. It is over 500 feet deep, making it popular for boating activities like fishing and water sports like skiing.

Unfortunately for swimmers, there is no spot for safe swimming at Lake Shasta. Don’t worry though if you can’t have the chance to see the beauty of the lake underwater because the warm, clear water enables you to view the lake beds from you boat. On the other hand, you can still swim with caution anywhere along the 364 miles of the shoreline along the lake, which is better than San Francisco Bay.

Those who are looking for a more exciting adventure and water sport, there is still more you can do at Lake Shasta. You can take the opportunity to see and feel the warm, clean water while skiing and wakeboarding. By the way, ski boat competitions are also held here annually. If you don’t own one, you can rent one around the Lake’s vicinity. You can choose from a wide variety of boats depending on what you want to do, either for fishing, wakeboarding or skiing.
