Christian Success Principles & Home Based Mentoring Part ~ 4

By: Joshua Valentine

In this section of our Christian Home Based Business Success Principles and Mentoring we are going to talk about your "calling". Why is it that others create wealth in their lives and some barely scrape by? I intend to approach this subject based upon your calling. The problem I see is often the Christian Home Business that has been blessed with financial abundance, must remain grounded in the Word and use those resources in a discerning manner according to their calling.

Money in and of itself is not the calling, having money is not the calling, success is not the calling nor is the ability to create wealth. The calling is what you do with the resources the Lord has blessed you with. The reality is some are called to financial abundance to give and support faithful ministries and others are called to receive from those faithful supporters. Those that have given their lives to The Lord and are discerning in their ways understand this Truth.

Paul warns us in the Word about financial abundance. When your Christian Home Business is successful your response to that success can become easily distorted by the entrappings of the world. Success does not mean that you have the blessing to spend all your income on the luxuries of the world. We are called to use our resources in a way that Honors the Lord. Again Paul warns about this In 1 Timothy.

1 Timothy 6:17-19 "Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life."

The previouse verses talk about our blessings and our success related to a Christian Home Business. We are not to use this to become puffed up or prideful. We are to use our resources to Honor God in our business and in our supporting of ministries that Honor Him. Not only are we to manage our resources today we are to have succession plans to allow our financial blessing to carry on for future generations.
